Mt Lindesay

Mt Lindesay a little after four PM from the track into Mt Barney NP. At 1175m its a fair sized chunk of rock and it is all cliff. Although in appearance it is like a volcanic plug it isn't, it is the remains of the original lava flows from the first eruptive period of the Mt Barney volcano.
The geology of this area is a little unusual and with erosion it is now difficult, if not impossible, to determine the original volcanic vent, it may have been Mt Barney itself or a little further west at Focal Peaks.
The New South Wales border runs up the right hand corner and across the summit to the eastern corner. From the air Mt Lindesay is sort of Y shaped.
