Description

This one doesn't seem to easily fit into any of the categories available.
In the early days of English settlement of Australia someone decided rabbits were needed for the gentry to hunt and as food for the less well off. It turned out to be one of many ideas that turned out to be disastrous, the rabbits loved Australia and bred like rabbits, eating their way across the country, destroying everything in their wake. So serious was the problem that rabbit proof fences (which werent) were constructed across vast distances to try and slow or halt the spread of the feral pest. This fence runs from somewhere near the coast all the way to the South Australian border either as rabbit fence or dingo fence. The fence didn't stop rabbits but for some reason they do not thrive in Queensland and are only found near the border, their range doesn't extend very far into Queensland.
Queensland is on the left side of the fence in this picture taken from just past the border crossing on Mt Lindesay Highway.

Pretty interesting indeed... That kind of fences actually are rabbit proof if they are high enough, can't be bitten through and also go underground for at least half a meter. Can't tell is that one all that, though.
